Our Counselors

Rachael Collins

Rachael’s philosophy for counseling is relationship-centered, narrative-informed and holistic in approach. She believes that story is the heartbeat of God and how he reveals who we are, who he is and the brokenness that we now endure. As a counselor, her heart is to create space to hear people’s stories and to journey with them as they courageously step into stories of pain and harm. She has found that true healing and hope filled beauty emerges when we are able to speak our stories with truth and integrity– as we lament our wounds and offer compassion to the parts of us still marked by the cursed story.

Rachael draws experience from over a decade worth of counseling ministry as a pastor’s wife as well as training through CCEF–Christian Counseling Education Foundation.  She is currently finishing additional certification through the Association of Biblical Counselors. Rachael is particularly passionate about those who struggle with anxiety and stress, trauma and abuse, sexual abuse/brokenness. Additionally, her experience as a pastor’s wife has given her a passion to serve those in ministry where isolation, conflict, confusion and burnout can be so prominent.

Michael Collins

Michael is passionate about the people of God fully experiencing the words given to Christ at the start of his ministry… “This is my beloved child, in whom I am well pleased.”  His approach to counseling is holistic, relational, gospel centered, and grace filled.  Michael believes that transformation comes as we deeply experience the Lord in our lives, both in our present as well as in the stories of our past.

Michael has served as a pastor and counselor for over a decade, finding great honor in walking with people in the midst of life’s struggles and difficulties. He has counseled men and women, families, and couples working through anxiety, depression, loss, infidelity, addiction, anger and doubt. As a man who has had others look to him for leadership and yet felt the weight of his own inadequacy and brokenness, he is specifically passionate about helping men and ministers walk in the truth of where they are (fully loved and accepted by the Lord) even when “where they are” isn’t “where they want to be.” Beyond his years in ministry, Michael has benefited from counseling specific education from the Christian Counseling Education Foundation – CCEF and is completing additional training through the Association of Biblical Counseling.
